Community Coordinator: One per school-works with school’s Senior Project Coordinator; Aids students and teachers in identifying community mentors, technical consultants and presentation panelists; Coaches and assists new mentors and serves as a communication link to school; May coordinate community resources to aid students in their projects and presentations; Estimated time commitment – will vary depending on school and number of Senior Project candidates.
Community Mentor: Works one-on-one with a student and serves as a subject matter expert; Provides guidance related to the student’s project thesis ; May provide job-shadowing, sharing of knowledge and experience, help to refine project topic/scope, assist with research, identify other resource experts as needed; Estimated time commitment: 15+ hours over a 4-9 month period.
Community Technical Consultant: Is an expert in a field or subject who can provide short-term technical assistance as needed upon request; Estimated time commitment: 1 to 2 hours or as needed.
Community Panelist: Is an expert in a field related to a student’s Senior Project; Serves as a member of a judging panel to rate students’ Senior Project presentations; Reviews student’s research paper and portfolio; Estimated time commitment: 4+ hours.
