Marine Corps Historic Half Weekend will be hosted in Fredericksburg, VA from Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the event.
The weekend kick-off ceremony begins on Friday, May 19 at 11:30 a.m. with the opening of the Healthy Lifestyle Expo. The two-day Expo is open to the public on May 19 and 20 at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center located at 2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway.
Thousands will participate in the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon, the Semper 5ive (five mile run) and the new Devil Dog Double that includes both the Semper 5ive and Historic Half marathon distances -- and three finisher medals!
The Devil Dog Double begins at 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of Fall Hill Avenue and Green Streets in historic downtown -- with the Semper 5ive starting in that same location at 7 a.m. Runners for the Marine Corps Historic Half also start at 7 a.m., but on Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg's Central Park. All three events finish together on Carl D. Silver Parkway.
Media credential confirmation and pick-up information will be sent via email, as requests are approved by the Historic Half Public Relations Coordinator. All individuals are required to request a Historic Half media credential while covering any Historic Half Weekend event. Media parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
