Fuel Duty

You are invited to participate in my survey about fuel duty. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

During October 2013, the average price of unleaded petrol in the UK was 132.2p per litre with around 60.5% taken as tax. The rate of fuel duty varies depending on the type of fuel. for example in 2013 the rate of fuel duty per litre on unleaded petrol and biodiesel is 57.95p. Consumer fuel is also subject to VAT which is applied after fuel duty meaning there is another additional charge of 20%.

My dissertation aims to investigate the purpose of fuel duty, its revenue raising potential and the impact fuel duty has on individuals' vehicle usage and purchasing behaviour in the UK.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for me to learn your opinions.

Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be used only for the purpose of my dissertation. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential.
