STUDY TITLE: The K4A Program and Career Development of Adults

Dear Participant:

I am an assistant professor in Counseling and Counseling Psychology programs at Arizona State University (ASU). Working with Kuder, Inc. on this project, I am conducting a research study to investigate how an individual’s self-knowledge and utilization of the Kuder 4 Adults (K4A) program relate to his or her career decision-making and exploration. I am inviting your participation, which will involve filling out a short, anonymous online survey after you have utilized the K4A program.

To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years of age. Completing this online survey will take approximately 15 minutes. Your participation in this study is voluntary without compensation. If you choose not to participate or to withdraw from the study at any time, there will be no penalty. Your decision will not affect your results from the K4A program or otherwise cause a loss of resources available to you through the Kuder website.

There are no direct benefits for participating in the study. However, your participation will provide valuable information that may ultimately help Kuder, Inc. improve the K4A program and assist professionals (e.g., counselor) in providing better career services. Your response to the online survey will be later combined with data (e.g., interests and skills assessments, service utilization) collected through K4A by Kuder, Inc. The combined data set will be stored in a password-protected hard drive at the principal investigator’s office in 446I Payne Hall at ASU. No identifying information will be solicited throughout this process. The principal investigator, co-investigator, and the data management team at Kuder, Inc. will be the only persons who have access to the data. The results of this study may be used in reports, presentations, or publications only in the aggregative form.

If you have any questions concerning the research study, please contact the research team at (480) 965-2193 or [email protected]. If you have any questions about your rights as a subject/participant in this research, or if you feel you have been placed at risk, you can contact the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance at ASU, at (480) 965-6788.

Completion and submission of the survey will be considered your consent to participate in this study.

Sincerely,
