Learning Goal/Purpose Statement: The purpose of this activity is to assist staff nurses interested in becoming certified in the specialty of Maternal-Newborn Nursing to assess their current knowledge and identify special areas for further study prior to taking the RNC exam. At the end of this session, the nurse will be able to describe assessment methods, nursing care and related complications for the pregnant woman and her newborn during antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods.
