The goal of this survey is to better understand the affects PTSD has on military service member’s spouses. Most research done to this point on the topic of PTSD has focused solely on the person who is suffering from the traumatic incident. The hope of this research is to expand the understanding of public health post-disaster by focusing on the impact PTSD has on spouses.
Participation in this research consists of answering the survey questions. This survey consists of demographic information, multiple choice, and open ended questions. It should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete the survey.
Participation in this survey is completely voluntary and can be terminated at any time without penalty.
By participating in this survey, there is the potential risk for temporary emotional discomfort. PTSD is a sensitive subject and will be treated as such.
There are a number of benefits that could result from this survey. Overall, it could increase the knowledge of the affects PTSD has on spouses and close family members. It could help with post-disaster public health and counseling by expanding benefits to spouses.
All responses to this survey will remain confidential and anonymous. The data collected will be used solely for this research.
