Hello:
You are invited to participate in my survey for the graduation thesis. In this survey, approximately 50 people will be asked to complete a survey that asks questions about 'role language.' It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

The topic of my graduation thesis is 'role language.' When you read or hear some phrases and you can guess who(sex, age, occupation, etc.) said this phrase, the phrase is called 'role language.' The role language is common in Japanese, Korean, and a few Asian languages, but not in English.

I study this role language and especially focus on the one in "Kitchen" by Banana Yoshimoto. "Kitchen" is a Japanese novel written by Banana Yoshimoto in 1988. It's translated to many other languages and read all over the world. English version was published in 1993, and the translator was an English woman.
I picked some lines from the English version of "Kitchen," and I'd like you to guess who said those lines. If you can guess it, that means English has 'role language' too.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for me to learn your opinions.

Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you may contact Yuki Machida by email at the email address specified below.

Thank you very much for your time and support. Please start with the survey now by clicking on the Continue button below.
