a. Projection: Rear Projection LCD/DLP - Liquid Crystal Display or Digital Light Processor that is freestanding on the floor. The depth from the screen to the wall is usually about 20 inches.

b. Plasma: Flat thin panel that can be mounted or hung on the wall. The depth is usually about 4 inches.

c. LCD: Thin Liquid Crystal Display panel that can be mounted or hung on the wall. The depth varies by model and is usually between 4 inches and 10 inches.

IV. Progressive Scan: Progressive scanning maximizes the picture quality of progressive-scan DVD players, set-top boxes and digital video recorders.
