Have you ever worked in an Investment Bank (placement or otherwise)? Which company did you work for? Offshoring is the relocation of business functions to tertiary locations, such as India.
The primary reason is cost saving.
Offshored functions are still controlled and operated by the parent company, as opposed to outsourcing.
Are you aware of any functions in your company that have been offshored? What were these functions that had been offshored? In your job, did you ever have to speak or work with anybody in an offshore location? How did you find this experience? Do you think employees in offshore locations (e.g. India) do a better job than people in the home location (e.g. London)? Do you think your job could be offshored? If your business function was offshored, what would be the RISKS involved? If your business function was offshored, what would be the OPPORTUNITIES involved? If your business function was offshored, what would be the overall IMPACT ON CLIENTS of the firm?
