Project Description

Is There a Market for Experiences?

Project Abstract

The dissertation will discuss the opportunities and difficulties faced by startups which are targeting the experience economy. This includes companies such as theme restaurants (e.g. Chuck E. Cheese, Planet Hollywood), travel agencies (bundling Rainforest Treks, etc) which is an extension of traditional service industries, where the experience is valued at a premium to the basic service offered (i.e. catered food, and air tickets respectively).
The study will center around studying if there is a ready market for experiences based on economic development in various countries, and individual's general acceptance to paying for these experiences.
