The purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence of employee theft within the retail industry. While research provides much information on who amongst employers commit theft, how the theft occurs, and even what is most commonly stolen, little research examines the predictor of employee theft according to seasonal dates within a calendar year. In determining when the theft occurs, organizations can better prepare and protect their products through various security means. This study will be done based on surveys cued towards practicing managers and employees who have exlored experiences of and views on employee theft within their region and location of business.
