What makes a good business leader and how important are these leaders to the success of an organization?

The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the relationship between business leaders and the success of their organization. This dissertation will consider, and answer, the following questions:

1. What are the different types of leadership and leadership style?
2. Is it a given that a person who is a successful business leader within one organization will be successful within another?
3. Why do some business leaders fail and what lessons can be learnt from these failures?
4. Can a successful business leader be a success on their own, or do they need like-minded people around them?
5. Is a successful business leader the same thing as a successful manager?
6. How can organizations attract and retain successful business leaders?
7. How important are the right leaders to the success of an organization?
