Project Description

A Study of Popular Gambling Shows on College Students

Project Abstract

This study investigates the effects that the widely popular poker television shows are having on college students. Using Banduras Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) as a framework of influence, exposure to these shows ranging from the individual student to the overall college environment was assessed and evaluated. Differences in attitude and behavior were then measured according to SCTs triadic model of influence to gauge how conducive the college environment is to the ramifications of programming that promotes gambling behavior.
