The Death Anxiety Scale was constructed in 1967. It has been translated into many different languages and the original article has frequently been cited. A limitation of the DAS is that it only has 15 items, and does not take adequate account of cultural and religious practices of diverse groups. Items have been generated to add to the original items, extending its applicability. The aim of the current study is to calculate the correlations of the new items with each other and with the original items.
