The Use of Concept Hierarchies in Privacy Preserving Data Acquisition for Data Mining
The main idea proposed in this research is the use of concept hierarchies during the data collection and data preprocessing stages of data mining to ensure user-controlled privacy preservation. Data is collected at multiple user-selected privacy levels/hierarchies. We also study the usefulness of data acquired at multiple data hierarchies for privacy research. Here, privacy research refers to the body of work that is geared towards providing technology to enable data contributors control the use and handling of their personal information.
