TO ASSESS HOW HOSPITAL CHAPLAINS, CPE RESIDENTS AND STUDENTS, AND MISSON/MINISTRY MANAGERS MANAGE GRIEF RELATED TO PATIENNT DEATH.

Project Abstract

A TWENT-ONE ITEM SURVEY WAS ADMINISTERED TO 25 STAFF MEMBERS OF THE ST. ANTHONY'S HOSPITALS, DENVER, COLORADO. FIVE DEMOGRAPHIC QUESTIONS WERE ASKED AND 16 QUESTIONS RELATED TO HOW CHAPLAINS MANAGE GRIEF RELATED TO PATIENT DEATH.
INCLUDED WERE QUESTIONS ABOUT: THE INCIDENCE OF GRIEF FOR HOSPTIAL CHAPLAINS; THE NEED TO RESOLVE GRIEF; THE SPEED OF GRIEF RESOLUTION;THE OCCURRENCE OF GRIEF STUFFING BY CHAPLAINS; THE LOCATION OF GRIEF RESOLUTION; HOW QUICKLY GRIEF IS RESOLVED; WHO SUPPORTS CHAPLAINS IN GRIEF RESOLUTION; BARRIERS TO GRIEF RESOLUTION IN PROFESSION, WORK UNIT, ORGANIZATION; WERE CHAPLAINS CHANGED BY GRIEF EXPERIENCE
