Impact of 2008 Tax Rebate on Local Economy
A tax rebate plan was recently approved by congress, with the intent of stimulating the economy. Unfortunately it is unknown what effects the economy will actually see. Will money from rebates pumped into the local economy actually be spent as was intended, either locally or nationally? If it is not spent, will it trickle out of the economy as investments, or debt servicing? The key question local merchants might desire to know is How much of the rebates will go back into the economy and what will they be spent on? The purpose of this survey is to address these issues as best as one can within the constraints of the class.
