TBL analysis of The Green Valleys Project
For my final thesis, I am trying to ascertain the importance and fundamental role community based approaches to carbon reduction can and should play in the UK government's targets within the Kyoto protocol - and whatever comes next. I am specifically looking at The Big Green Valleys Project in the Brecon Beacons National Park (I am originally from Crickhowell) and is one of the ten finalists in the Big Green Challenge with NESTA. It is attempting to significantly reduce the carbon emissions of various communities in the area through microgeneration, domestic small scale changes and education (http://www.thegreenvalleys.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=143&Itemid=124). I am hoping to provide a Triple Bottom Line analysis of this project (economic, environmental and social) to show the impact potential of such bottom up initiatives.
