Project Description

This is a doctoral research study on advocacy in special education. The goal of the study is to examine the advocacy actions and self-perceptions of parents raising children with special needs. Data will be collected from pretest and posttest surveys.

Approximately 150 parents, recruited through various organizations, will contact the principle investigator to initiate participation. Subjects will complete a pretest on Questionpro.com, then link to a site containing 6 modules of instructional material on effective methods of advocacy in special education, then return to Questionpro.com to complete the posttest. The control group will complete the pretest and posttest initially, then the instructional material. There is no charge nor monetrary compensation.
