The Relationships among the Components of the Information Security Risk Management Model and the Correlation between Information Security Risk Management and Unauthorized Access of Small to Large US Companies of the Major Industry Sectors

Project Abstract

This research assesses a theoretical correlation of information security risk management practices and security incidents and relationships among the information security risk management model while addressing the lack of quantifiable data addressing information security practices of US companies. The data collection method is a written survey instrument comprised of a self-administered questionnaire and instructions. The central research design of this study applies a non-experimental method and is ex post facto in nature. The target population of the study is US companies with Internet connectivity representing the major industry sectors, and the survey sample is from companies that are listed with NASDAQ.
