Project Description

The Roan Scholars Leadership Program

Project Abstract

1. To further develop a Roan Scholar brand that promotes the program within the context of ETSU's marketing strategy.
2. To increase the awareness of the program's objectives to principals and guidance counselors, and
3. To review the nomination process

By addressing the issues above, we hope to create a better understanding of the distinguishing features and opportunities of The Roan Scholars Program.

The ETSU graduate student project team will perform the following tasks:

1. Survey current and past Roan Scholars as to their perceptions of the program's strengths and weaknesses.
2. Survey high school guidance counselors and principals as to their awareness of the program's objectives.
3. Benchmark similar programs, and perform a gap analysis, and
4. redesign/develop a manageable, updated website based on the brand developed.

The project team will make interim and final presentations to an audience of your choice. The interim presentation will report on the team's progress and provide an opportunity for you and your colleagues to give us feedback on the project's direction. The final presentation will include the project team's findings and recommendations. This presentation is tentatively scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. The College of Business and Technology will provide a written final report containing the outcomes achieved. You will receive three copies of the report on or before May 2, 2006.

The Roan Scholars Leadership Program agrees to grant the graduate student project team access to primary and secondary data to include written information on the program and access to manage other personnel associated with the program.

The Leadership Program agrees to provide a written evaluation of the consulting project within three weeks of delivery of the final written report.

Lauren Davis, Shari Harder, Gary Lee, Pam Plucker, Steven Rife, and Adam Walton have been assigned to this consulting project for the duration of the semester. Members of the College of Business and Technology Graduate Faculty will serve as project coordinators. The Roan Scholars Leadership Program agrees to permit four ETSU faculty members to attend the project team's final presentation for the purposes of evaluating the students' work. We are all personally committed to a successful outcome
