The purpose of the study is to survey the top performing employees at Gillette (LANR) in Mexico City to assess their current perception of the retention factors of feeling valued, having fun at work, and having freedom to make decisions. The research question for this study is: What are top performer's current perceptions in regard to the retention factors of feeling valued, having fun at work, and having freedom to make decisions? Additionally, this study will attempt to determine specific practices that Gillette (LANR) can put in place, in order to make top performers feel valued, have fun at work, and have freedom to make decisions.

Project Abstract

This research effort focuses on a specific talent retention problem that Gillette Latin America Northern Region (LANR), situated in Mexico City, is facing. Gillette (LANR) is attempting to improve its talent retention index. Gillette (LANR) recently developed a survey to identify what factors top performing employees consider important when they determine to remain employed with the company. The survey identified that the most important factors are: feeling valued, having fun at work, and having freedom to make decisions. Gillette (LANR) wants to understand what they have to do in order to address these factors. This study will identify top performing employee's current attitudes regarding feeling valued, having fun at work, and having freedom to make decisions. Additionally it will attempt to determine specific practices that Gillette (LANR) can put in place, in order to make top performers feel valued, have fun at work, and have freedom to make decisions. The results of the survey will illustrate the specific practices that Gillette (LANR) can put in place in order to address the retention factors and improve its talent retention index. Knowing top performers' current attitudes towards feeling valued, having fun at work, and having freedom to make decisions will serve the company as a metric to asses if these areas improve after retention practices are implemented.
