Door 1: I am FEMALE and 36 OR YOUNGER.

What we have here are parts one and two of what is to be a continuing 12-part series in The Washington Post about the 2001 murder of intern Chandra Levy, the botched police investigation that followed, and her affair with Congressman Gary Condit. The stories are by Sari Horwitz, Scott Higham and Sylvia Moreno.

What we are seeing here is an interesting journalistic experiment: Each part of this series is extremely short, at least by big-newspaper mega-story standards. Ordinarily, this series would probably have been three days long, with each story two to three times the length. In the end here, you will probably be getting more words, total, but spread over many more days in much shorter segments.

What do you think of this idea?

I like it.

Why do you think The Post is trying this? (Choose the best answer.)

It's probably an attempt to adapt to younger readers' shorter attention spans.

It's probably an attempt to maximize Web page hits.

It's probably an attempt to sell more newspapers over more days.

What do you think about devoting a lot of time and space to a story like this one? (Choose the best answer.)

I like it. This is a compelling case that people are interested in. Newspapers should do this more often.

I don't like it. It's not important, it's lurid and trivial. I'm more interested in stories that directly affect my life.

I don't like it. It's not important, it's lurid and trivial. I'm more interested in stories that tell me how my government works, how my tax dollars are being spent, etc.

I'm not sure.
