In PBS's broadcast of the Royal Shakespeare Company's stage production of "King Lear," the scene in which Lear, played by the 69-year-old Sir Ian McKellen, was altered so as not to show the actor in the buff. Should PBS show the play the way director Trevor Nunn intended -- with nudity?

a) No way. Exposing tender, young Shakespeare fans to full frontal nudity runs the risk of turning them into drug addicts, prostitutes, etc.

b) Sure, why not? It's roughly the equivalent of showing youngsters a view of a wilting lily.
