Our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students work
collaboratively with community partners to address real-world health care
issues and challenges in their DNP Project. The DNP Project is a scholarly work
that may take on various final forms depending on the student’s area of study
or practice and the needs of the community partner. The types of projects may
include quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice
implementation, program evaluation, or health policy focus. Key elements of the
scholarly project must include:
Identification of a problem,
A search, analysis, and synthesis of the
literature and evidence,
Translation of the evidence to construct a
strategy or method to address the identified problem,
A plan for implementation and actual
implementation, when possible,
An evaluation of the outcomes, processes, and/or
experiences, and
Dissemination of the results.
Projects usually span four consecutive semesters beginning in the Spring and Summer semesters.
