'PITCH IN' - Volunteer Call to Action

We’re so excited to be hosting an FIH Olympic Qualifier in Ireland, a great chance to get behind our women’s team as they aim to qualify for Tokyo 2020. These key matches take place on:

            Saturday 2 November - Ireland v Canada 19.00

            Sunday 3 November - Ireland v Canada 19.10

An Olympic Qualifier on home soil is a unique event – the only one in Ireland this year. Equally unique is that we’re building an international standard hockey pitch in a rugby stadium – Energia Park! Big Stadium Hockey is coming to Dublin and we’re asking you to ‘Pitch In’.

You can play your part in helping to prepare for this special event and wrap up after it.  We’re looking for volunteers to help Hockey Ireland on one or more of the following dates:

Pitch In - Sunday 27 October & Monday 28 October

Pitch Out - Monday 4 November & Tuesday 5 November

There’s up to 3 different time periods available each day and you can offer to help for just one or multiple sessions. There’s also a range of roles on offer which are suitable for different ages (18+) and physical conditions. You can find out more information by clicking here for our FAQs.

Ireland women’s captain Katie Mullan commented “Our squad are fired up and training hard to prepare for these critical matches and we’d love to share this special journey with our hockey family. So why not come on down to Energia Park with you friends, team mates or family and ‘Pitch In’. You could even bring your sticks too!”
