The importance of sustainability has become widely recognized within society and a priority for the built environment sector of the economy. The South African construction industry has experienced an evolution that has steered building design and construction towards more sustainable forms.  This research endeavors to determine the persuasive drivers behind green commercial building investment in South Africa by developers while also aiming to determine the influences that might hinder green building investment decisions.
