Health Informatics Skills

Dear Participant:

The Faculty of Informatics and Communication at Central Queensland University
is a major provider of education and training in information systems
and technology. We have a specific interest in the needs of the health
sector as it is increasingly dependent upon the effective application
of complex technological solutions and systems. In order to ensure we
remain relevant and current in the content and delivery of such
education and training, we currently survey health professionals to
ascertain their perceptions of needs and priorities.

As Program Director of the Health Informatics Program at
Central Queensland University, I am asking your help as health
professional in determining the skills needed to cope with the growing
dependability on information technology in today’s health care system.
We would appreciate it if you would take about 10 minutes to respond to
the following survey.

Your responses, together with others, will be combined and
used for statistical summaries only. Your participation in this study,
of course, is voluntary and you may refuse to answer any question.

We appreciate that health professionals are often overwhelmed by
surveys and questionnaires; however this specific one has the support
of the key national health informatics policy committees and will
assist in policy setting at the national level. Your participation is
vital to the study to ensure that your profession is adequately
represented.

The results of the analysis of the survey will be made
available to participating health associations to assist them in their
own continuing education strategies and will be published on our Health
Informatics website http://www.infocom.cqu.edu.au/hi.

Thank you for your assistance.

Yours sincerely

Prof Evelyn J.S. Hovenga
