Project Description

A Survey of Self-Injurious Behavior and Related School-Based Interventions

Project Abstract

Self-injury is a phenomenon that is rapidly becoming more prevalent among the school-aged population. Despite this upsurge, school personnel do not possess the knowledge to provide assistance to students engaging in this behavior, and school-based interventions to address the behaviors are few and far between. The pupose of the current study is to gather information via an internet-based survey that will assist in creating school-based interventions to address the phenomenon of self-injury, as well as educating school personnel on the nature of self-injury, and how to interact with a student engaging in this behavior.
