THE AFFECTS OF ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE ON JOB SATISFACTION
Recurring change and realignment within DCMA has a negative effect on job satisfaction and employee morale. There has been significant reorganization within the DCMA in the past 5 years. Traditionally, DCMA has based its surveillance strategy, resource allocation, and planning on risk management philosophies. Starting in 2003, the DCMA began a shift from traditional risk management to a customer-focused approach, which has evolved today into Performance Based Management (PBM). In 2005 the Agency began a shift from individual Contract Management Offices (CMO), which fell under 4 geographic Districts (East, West, and International) to individual CMOs that fall under 6 product oriented Divisions (Aeronautical, Space and Missiles, Ground Systems and Munitions, Naval Sea Systems, Special Programs, and International) (Crawford, 2005).
