Apple’s HomePod has arrived. On February 9, 2018, the $349 HomePod debuted in the US, UK and Australia. Apple, who is used to being the first on the technology scene, is the late-comer to the voice assistant speaker market, launching three years after Amazon’s Echo.  And as the first consumer reviews come streaming in, whether it was worth the wait is up for debate.

Blockchain, a digital record of all activity related to a product or service, is predicted to change retail in the same way online shopping did. The technology was originally designed for digital currency like bitcoin, and because of its effectiveness, found its way into other areas of the digital world. The beauty of blockchain is that it is shared and doesn’t sit in one database for hackers to access.

2017 was predicted to be the year of the smart home, and consumers are slowly integrating the new technology into their homes. With smart speakers like Amazon Echo, Google Home, and the soon-to-be-released Apple HomePod, consumers have many options when it comes to a digital voice assistant, and the ability to optimize and control lighting, heating, energy consumption, electronic devices and security features….

There are currently about 75 million baby boomers (born between 1946 and 1964) in the U.S., and they are the fastest growing segment of technology consumers. Whereas millennials consume the trending technology and move on to the next, baby boomers are different. Once they find a brand that appeals to them, they are extremely brand loyal.

The future is here, and the future is artificial intelligence. A technology that once sounded futuristic is now here, and smart businesses have realized it’s not an optional tool in this tech-crazed climate, and begun implementing AI in order to create the easiest possible user experience. Analysts predict that by 2020, 85% of a consumer’s relationship with a business will be managed without interacting with a human.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is an annual trade show where the consumer technology world goes to introduce their newest innovations to the marketplace. Some of these innovations are not necessarily going to be unleashed to the marketplace, but garner attention for the brand, such as the car-sized drone a Chinese company EHang unveiled in 2016.
