{"id":10328,"date":"2014-09-29T03:35:16","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T10:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/?p=10328"},"modified":"2014-09-29T03:35:16","modified_gmt":"2014-09-29T10:35:16","slug":"mapping-question-types","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/mapping-question-types\/","title":{"rendered":"Marvelous Mapping Manipulation Monday (or &#8220;Mmmm&#8221; for short)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, we launched <a title=\"10 Enhancements to QuestionPro Question Types\" href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/2014\/09\/15\/10-enhancements-to-question-types-just-released\/\">10 new enhancements to question types<\/a>, including a brief overview of each.<\/p>\n<h4>Let&#8217;s delve slightly deeper into the Maps question type, a pretty cool and useful feature.<\/h4>\n<p>Maps is great for any time you want to tie your survey response set to a geographic location. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-10341\" src=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/seattle-locations-300x219.png\" alt=\"seattle-locations\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" \/><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>For example, the Maps question type used in a multi-store retail survey might:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>identify a store where a purchase was made (assuming that information wasn&#8217;t easily available).<\/li>\n<li>gather votes on potential new store locations.<\/li>\n<li>branch to the Maps question type and ask for feedback on a more convenient location when a respondent indicates they had to go out of their way to make a purchase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure there are others as well, and that&#8217;s just one industry type (retail); each industry will have its own set of uses.<\/p>\n<h4>How to Add a Maps Question Type to a Survey:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to QuestionPro.<\/li>\n<li>Create a new survey (or edit an existing one).<\/li>\n<li>Add a new question.<\/li>\n<li>Choose &#8220;Maps&#8221; under Advanced Question Types.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5>Maps Question Type FAQs:<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Q:<\/strong> Can I allow the respondent to select more than one location? <strong>A:<\/strong> Yes, you can currently allow them to select up to 5 locations. <strong>Q:<\/strong> Can I change the default location? <strong>A:<\/strong> Yes, when editing the question, search for the location you want to set as the default and then hit Save Question.
