of change"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Observing the differences<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been a very busy spring.\u00a0 Between finalizing the last connections with my move a year ago, to getting the family out on their first vacation in almost a year, welcoming some visitors and &#8211; of course &#8211; working on the ever dreaded income taxes which took much longer this year.\u00a0 I finally had a weekend, the first in over six weeks of just getting things done at home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was the first weekend in a while where I focused my energies and attention on things closer to home.\u00a0 Even getting those things done felt like an accomplishment and, dare I say, a little bit of normal.\u00a0 I\u2019m coming up one year in my new home state, and reflecting on the differences between then and now has me hopeful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I know we are not yet in the clear, but things feel more like an endemic than a pandemic at this point.\u00a0 Even little things are being noticed, yesterday as I looked to purchase a replacement facemask, I actually had to search the store instead of finding them right up front-and-center as had been the case with prior purchases of masks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The CX Change<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One thing I also did this weekend was to purchase our second car.\u00a0 The \u201csecond car\u201d has multiple meanings here:\u00a0 it is the second car I\u2019ve purchased since the onset of the pandemic, it is the second car that will be used in my new home state an ocean away from where I lived before, the second car I purchased from the same dealership, it will be the second car I have purchased for one of my children to drive and it is my second all-electric vehicle.\u00a0 Quite a few \u201cseconds\u201d all in one sentence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of these are relevant when thinking about the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/cx\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/cx\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG0kjWQXpOHw1PsV6iPRiXVBJOLYQ\">customer experience<\/a>.\u00a0 Working backward from my list above, the product offer was really the first criteria that had to be met towards this purchase.\u00a0 We are fortunate to live on an island with abundant solar energy, at the same time fuel is shipped and takes quite a while to get here making it very expensive, making the ongoing expense of the car minimal.\u00a0 Without the right product, this experience never happens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next is the person for which the purchase was made.\u00a0 Certainly I would have my own set of standards for myself, but then I become even more concerned with things like safety and reliability.\u00a0 Just an example of the sometimes forgotten\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/customer-touchpoints\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/customer-touchpoints\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGHcyloxuvtl_I85rHxMhHdEGnmJQ\">CX touchpoints<\/a>, recognizing the end user versus the purchaser.\u00a0 Both will play a role in this decision and future loyalty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clearly, something must have gone well with my last purchase for me to make a second purchase at the same dealership.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t measured with just a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/customer-satisfaction.html\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/customer-satisfaction.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH3ExEfmZBoZMkEKoAhf7rUUIIIHQ\">customer satisfaction survey<\/a>, instead there were several communications throughout the year to build the relationship mutually.\u00a0 It is connected with the idea that we are relatively new to this area, therefore finding businesses that want to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/building-relationships-cx-measurement\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/building-relationships-cx-measurement\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNER01sCMLKYQMeN_ZzcUeHvcAXNqw\">build relationships<\/a>, not just adding the next customer and getting a score on a survey was important as we settle into this new location.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>CX Changes That Last<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course I left the best for last: this is the second car I\u2019ve purchased since the onset of the pandemic.\u00a0 The processes have changed in some minor nuanced ways since my last pandemic vehicle purchase, and are still very different from my pre-pandemic vehicle purchases.\u00a0 My personal perspective is that many of these changes are great.\u00a0 I still have not set foot inside the dealership from which I purchased two vehicles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That may seem strange or risky, but the reality is that they have expanded their online presence in a way that allows me to do all the research I need prior to a test drive.\u00a0 The dealership has gone out of their way to link to reports, reviews and vehicle history for each and every car they are selling.\u00a0 Not just the glowing reviews, every review.\u00a0 It gives me the opportunity to easily and thoroughly research a big decision in the comfort and safety of home, before scheduling an appointment for the test drive.\u00a0 Even the paperwork was sent home with me to complete away from crowds and congestion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too often we think about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/cx\/why\/cx-strategy.html\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/cx\/why\/cx-strategy.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNE3uovUfxdxJ_CIRV7zitvyN6YpgQ\">Customer Experience Strategy<\/a>\u00a0in terms of which measure to use such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/nps-plus\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/nps-plus\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGg5g1yNDOV4qfUBaH07URcAu_4Qg\">NPS+<\/a>, customer satisfaction or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/customer_effort_score.html\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/customer_effort_score.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNExaqLd7hFoCrXrm26rjLJM5N21oQ\">customer effort score<\/a>.\u00a0 Sometimes it is about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/cx\/closed-loop\/case-management.html\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/cx\/closed-loop\/case-management.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHXR3eHZ_17izutBN6YmeAOQYUvag\">closed-loop feedback<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/let-ex-work-for-your-cx\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/let-ex-work-for-your-cx\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNF98RbFKYSjvlg6_m0-6tuB7MjA_w\">employee empowerment<\/a>.\u00a0 Every once in a while it takes the form of deciding which CX software to use &#8211; which can only come down to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/questionpro_products\/cx-2\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/questionpro_products\/cx-2\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618549728759000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGlga0WOss1Pj4RSrrmMGy8HyiG0A\">QuestionPro
