This will allow your employees to log in to their QuestionPro account with a single click, and while they are logged into your site, employees can answer SSO-enabled surveys with a single click. This is easier than forcing someone to remember many username and passwords of various vendor tools or having to apply additional layers of security settings to your surveys. A win-win for you and your security protocols! <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Two birds, one SSO<\/b><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>SAML SSO authentication &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SSO using SAML authenticates survey creator to access QuestionPro from a secure site<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>SSO take survey authentication &#8211; <\/b>SSO survey authentication requires respondents to log into a secure site and then access a secure survey link.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>What you need to get started with SSO &#8211; IdP URL<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the signed SSO connection, you will need the following three things:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entity ID &#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the globally-unique URL\/string of your IdP entity. It&#8217;s similar to a mailing address that we, the service provider, use to contact your IdP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IdP login URL &#8211; This is the URL for logging in to your IdP. The Login URL is often very similar to the Entity ID URL. This is where we will send the SAML request.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SSL certificate &#8211; This is your certificate file (.crt) for your IdP which can be downloaded from your SSL Issuer. We require base64 encoded files that include the begin and end tags.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If these items are unfamiliar to you, be sure to connect with your IT team to help you gather this information.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b> How to make QuestionPro a service provider as part of this single sign-on (SSO)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using the signed SAML SSO, we are the service provider (SP) putting in a request to authenticate each respondent. QuestionPro initiates the IdP sign-on request every time a person accesses the survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For enabling SAML authentication please go to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>My Account \u00bb Global Settings \u00bb Select SSO Authentication<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select SAML (Signed) and add the following information:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Configuration Type &#8211; Choose either metadata URL, \u00a0metadata file, or manual settings and upload the file<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Issuer \/ Entity ID (required)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Signing Certificate (required)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Single Sign-On URL<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logout URL (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restrict <a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/help\/sso-best-practices.html\">SSO<\/a> login (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69561\" src=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Setup-SSO-Authentication.png\" alt=\"Setup SSO Authentication\" width=\"1340\" height=\"814\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Restricting login sites<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is an option to add a \u201crestricting to SSO only\u201d feature which will allow users to login to QuestionPro via your organization\u2019s website. They will not have the ability to login to QuestionPro\u2019s site. Once this is enabled, the SAML SSO authentication is complete.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to apply SSO authentication to your survey, then go to<\/span><b> Survey \u00bb Security Settings \u00a0\u00bb and select &#8220;Your Organization Name&#8221; SAML<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as the last option in the list and save changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69562\" src=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/SSO-Security-Settings.png\" alt=\"SSO Security Settings\" width=\"1342\" height=\"665\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Can I pass through attribute statements or custom variables from my external tool to be used for data analysis via the SSO authentication URL? <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The answer to that is a resounding yes!
