href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/12\/how-to-write-a-market-research-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">writing your research plan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/09\/how-to-brainstorm-surveys-for-your-market-research-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creating surveys,<\/a> and today we are talking about how to distribute your surveys as part of your market research plan.<\/p>\n<p>Before you do anything &#8211; you want to get really familiar with the &#8220;Send Survey&#8221; tab. \u00a0Here is what you&#8217;ll find there<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-7780 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/send-survey.png?w=450\" alt=\"send survey\" width=\"450\" height=\"219\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You can distribute your online survey a variety of different ways &#8212; all from THIS tab.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Email:<\/strong> \u00a0There are actually two ways to distribute your survey via email: you can grab the link and insert it into an email that you send, or you can upload your respondents&#8217; emails and create a list and distribute your email that way. \u00a0It&#8217;s important to know and understand that when you distribute just the link &#8212; your responses will be anonymous and you won&#8217;t be able to see who responded other than the demographic questions that you&#8217;ve inserted. \u00a0When you create and upload a list of respondents, you&#8217;ll be able to see who responded and who didn&#8217;t. \u00a0Another great feature you can use is the &#8220;reminder&#8221; feature and this will send a reminder email to just those people who didn&#8217;t respond. \u00a0This is a great way to increase your response rates. \u00a0I use this feature a lot and it makes a big difference in the ultimate completion rates of surveys.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Social Media:<\/strong> A few articles ago, we mentioned that you could use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/2013\/09\/25\/how-to-use-social-media-as-part-of-your-market-research-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media<\/a> to help you brainstorm your survey, but you can also use social media to distribute your survey to your community. \u00a0One caution I would make is to make sure that you have a very complete and engaging introduction to your survey so that people will understand what it&#8217;s about. \u00a0AND &#8211; the other helpful hint is to make your survey fun, engaging and relevant to the community that you&#8217;re going to be sharing with.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Online Sample:<\/strong> \u00a0As you look through this tab, you&#8217;ll also see the option to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/a\/showCustomPanel.do?mode=respondents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buy Respondents<\/a>. \u00a0QuestionPro has access to a variety of online sample. \u00a0And I have to tell you that the cost of this sample is truly reasonable. \u00a0So, if you want to do some brand testing or run a survey with general population &#8212; this is a terrific resource and well worth the money.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Embed in website:<\/strong> \u00a0If you have a self-hosted blog. \u00a0Consider embedding your survey inside the blog. \u00a0Just click on the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-7781\" src=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/istock_000019382804small.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"Fresh ideas, concept words\" width=\"450\" height=\"312\" \/>&#8220;embed&#8221; button and you are ready to go!<\/li>\n<li><strong>QR Code:<\/strong> \u00a0This is one of my favorite ways to distribute a survey &#8212; you can get really creative with this one. \u00a0Simply click on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/2012\/04\/16\/how-to-use-qr-codes-in-online-survey-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">QR code button<\/a> and the system will generate a unique code. \u00a0Then paste that code anywhere you like. \u00a0One creative thing to do is put the QR code on your business card and ask your potential prospects a few questions &#8211; this will prepare you for the next time you follow up with them.<\/li>\n<li><b>Pop-Up:<\/b> \u00a0I&#8217;ve told you about embedding your survey, but you can also do some fancier things such as pop-up surveys. \u00a0You have two options with this feature; page overlay or new window. \u00a0The page overlay is a great and updated way to keep people on your web site while gathering feedback. \u00a0The new window is also a terrific way to open the survey in a less distracting way.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exit Survey:<\/strong>\u00a0 While this isn&#8217;t exactly a &#8220;Distribution&#8221; &#8212; it&#8217;s a great option to include in your market research plan &#8212; especially if you want to get feedback from people right after they&#8217;ve interacted with your web site. \u00a0This survey appears immediately after they close their window or tab on your site or they navigate away from your site. \u00a0Again, it&#8217;s a great way to get their feedback about your site.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As you can see, QuestioPro offers a lot of distribution options. \u00a0Each one is designed to get to the respondent in different ways. \u00a0Not every distribution method is right for every application. \u00a0And this is why it&#8217;s important to consider all the different ways that you can reach your respondent and match your survey to the distribution
