For example, \u201cThe Conjuring\u201d will go into the \u2018horror\u2019 category, and &#8220;Hangover&#8221; will go into \u2018comedy.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Analyzing the results for closed card sorting<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-87289 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image5.png\" alt=\"survey card sorting analysis\" width=\"900\" height=\"504\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Analyzing the results above,\u00a0 you can see the items sorted into given categories &#8211; comedy, horror, and action. For \u201cThe Conjuring,\u201d 91.47% of respondents categorized it as a horror movie while 8.33% categorized it as an action film.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The count and percentage of responses received and its average ranking is given for every item. For \u201cThe Conjuring,\u201d 11 people selected it as a horror film while only one selected it as an action film. And although \u201cAnnabelle\u201d also has 11 counts of horror, \u201cThe Conjuring\u201d ranks in the top spot for horror in the list of movies given.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"square-cta secondary-lined-cta\" href=\"https:\/\/www.questionpro.com\/a\/showEntry.do?classID=1053&amp;sourceRef=research-edition-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Gather research insights<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><b>Setting up and analyzing open card sorting\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s go back to the movie example again. A new box will be created below. Now, they can drag and drop horror movies from the answer options into the horror category.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">imilarly, respondents need to drag other movie titles into the red box &#8211; \u2018drop-in item here to create a new category\u2019 if they want to create a new category and name it as applicable. For \u201cDue Date,\u201d you can see 12 total counts with 100% being respondent-categorized as a comedy while \u201cThe Hangover\u201d had 11 categorizations as a comedy and one as an action film.
