Acculturative Stress and Academic Performance of Mainland Undergraduates in Hong Kong: The Moderating Role of Self-Identity

My name is ZHANG Wenyi.  I am an undergraduate student at the City University of Hong Kong in the Department of Social and Behavioral Science. I would like to invite you to take part in my research study, which concerns the acculturative stress, academic performance, and self-identity of Mainland undergraduates in Hong Kong. The project has been approved by the Research Ethics Review Committee of the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences.

In this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey that consists of 4 parts of questions, including (1) Socio-Demographic Variables; (2) Academic Adaptation Scale; (3) Social, Attitudinal, Familial, and Environmental Scale, and (4) Identity Commitment Scale.

The study typically takes around 3-5 minutes for each session; a total of 12-20 minutes will be taken for the whole study.  

You may decide to stop being a part of the research study at any time without explanation. You have the right to ask that any data you have supplied to that point be withdrawn/destroyed. 

You have the right to omit or refuse to answer or respond to any question.

If you have any questions as a result of reading this information sheet, you should ask the researcher before the study begins.

There are no known benefits or risks for you in this study. 

Your participation in this study is voluntary. You will not receive any compensation or payment in return for your participation.

All data will be handled as confidentially as possible. All data will be used only at the aggregate level and for academic research.
