Hello: My name is Janice Jackson and I'm an Ed.S candidate at the University of West Georgia. I am currently conducting a survey on the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl program in DeKalb County School Systems. My objective is to determine how students are chosen, prepared and whether Lexile and other test scoresaredeterminants of students being chosen or volunteering to compete in the HRRB. In this survey, approximately10 HRRB coaches from the DeKalb County School Districtwill be asked to complete a survey that asks questions aboutthe reading bowl process. A follow up in person or over the phone interview will be conducted if warranted. It will take approximately 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important forme to learn your opinions. Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential.
