Unite and Enlighten Services

Unite and Enlighten is a nonprofit community center that provides programs, classes, activities workshops and events primarily for African American children to gain a sense of pride, respect, knowledge of their history and community. Nevertheless, the main purpose of our community center is to involve the whole community, therefore some programs, classes, activities, workshops and events will include the parents, family, friends, etc. Unite and Enlighten’s goal is to have most, if not all, our African American kids and teenagers walking with dignity, full of hope that there is a future for them, full of love for their people and knowledge of their history that’s not included in their schoolbooks. We will also strive to include African American parents, in result, developing a deeper involvement in their kids’ academics, learning more about our history before slavery, improving their marriages/relationships, having meaningful discussions about the betterment of our race and practicing group economics. Our vision will encourage the exchange of information and resources among each other and promoting more Black businesses. In addition, the age demographic gap disconnection will decease, forming a bridge that exchange knowledge and wisdom between one another.
