Launch an effort to get the city, state, developers and preservationists on the same page.

Which structures must be saved regardless of cost, and where will that money come from? Which are beyond hope? Which fall somewhere in between and require a flexible approach to ensure that they can be economically rehabilitated while preserving at least some of their historic character?

The guiding principles behind this effort should be that historic buildings have real value to our community, but that adhering too strictly to certain guidelines may discourage reuse to the extent that it actually dooms, not saves, the structure.
