Students in grades six through twelve are increasingly being taught with what educators call one to one technical teaching methodology. Early research indicates different degrees of success in students’ performance. Professional development by most research studies increases student achievement; however, the presence of effective professional development for one to one technology teaching methodology is limited.

This research project is designed to determine how quality professional development impacts student achievement in a 1:1 learning environment through the use of a survey to 1:1 schools in Southwest Missouri over the course of the fall 2016 semester. The researchers expectations will include the determination of hours and types of professional development received, types of technology used and provided for student use.
