About Lincolnshire's SAFER TOGETHER Research Panel

The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is to be the voice of the people and hold the police to account.

my pictureMarc Jones was elected as the PCC for Lincolnshire in May 2016, he is an intermediary voice between Lincolnshire Police and the people of Lincolnshire.

PCCs aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service in their force area.

Having a detailed and current understanding of the views, attitudes and priorities of the people of Lincolnshire regarding crime and policing is fundamental to the role.

In December 2017 Marc Jones, as PCC, appointed Lincoln-based market research agency Habit5, to conduct the largest and most comprehensive survey on crime and policing ever undertaken with residents of Lincolnshire.

As a consequence of the invaluable insights and findings gathered from last year's survey, it was decided that an ongoing research panel should be established to engage and consult with the people of Lincolnshire regarding crime and policing on a more frequent and sustained basis.

This new consultative initiative is now in place and has been named the 'Lincolnshire's SAFER TOGETHER Research Panel' (the Panel) and will enable opinions on topical issues, incidents and police policy to be gathered from a substantial and representative group of Panel members, all of whom are resident in Lincolnshire.

Members of this research panel will be asked to complete surveys, questionnaires and polls, covering both wide-ranging and specific issues and may be invited to take part in focus groups or interviews. The opinions and views gathered from the Panel members will help to inform the development and deployment of future crime prevention and policing strategies and tactics across the county. Panel members can help make Lincolnshire a safer place to live.
