This research is being conducted in order to better understand visitor understanding and opinions of science in this museum. You must be 18 years of age or better to participate in this research (19 or older in Nebraska). We will be collecting information on your opinions about science, science in this museum, and your understanding of evolution, as well as some basic demographic information so that we may better understand the audience we are serving. We are not collecting any identifying information, so your answers cannot be traced back to you in any way. Participation is voluntary, and there is no penalty for choosing not to participate or for ending your participation early; however questionnaires of participants who terminate participation early will not be used in final analysis. While you are welcome to skip any questions that you do not wish to answer, any incomplete questionnaires will be discarded and the data will not be used. The questionnaire should take about 10 minutes to complete. The risks to you as a participant are minimal, and include possible discomfort based on the questions being asked. There are no direct gains for you based on your participation. If you have any questions about your participation you may contact the principle investigator at Oregon State University, Dr. Shawn Rowe at [email protected], or the primary researcher, Laia Robichaux at [email protected]. If you have questions about your rights or welfare as a participant, please contact the Oregon State University Institutional Review Board (IRB) Office, at (541) 737-8008 or by email at [email protected].
