Perceptions of the Geordie Accent

Information Sheet

You have been asked to take part in a study regarding social perceptions of the Geordie accent. You have been invited to the research project because you are native English speaker and a UK resident. The purpose of this study is to investigate social perceptions of the Geordie accent and what factors may influence these perceptions.

If you agree to take part in this study you will be asked a series of closed questions as well as watch a short video. The study will last no more than 10 minutes in duration.

Participation in this study is voluntary. You do not have to take part in this study. However, if you do decide to take part you will be asked to tick a consent form before beginning the study. If, at any point, you change your mind you can withdraw from the study without reason or consequence.

All responses will be anonymous. DATA PROTECTION.
