We discussed adding a new position to the board, a treasurer assistant. Someone who will be responsible for collecting and logging money received for dvd's, yearbook, membership, etc. Then forwarding order list in a timely manner to the person in charge of that specific project.

We also discussed changing membership drive.
It will be open to anyone, mandatory to board members and anyone interested in serving on the board for the 2012-2013 school year. This will be explained to parents so no one is left out. This keeps us from not being able to use thousands of dollars collected at the first of the year.
We will have a table at meet the teacher where people can sign up for PTA if they want to. We will have a donation tier set up where if you donate a certain amount from small to large you will receive items for each level.
IE: Donate $4-5 and get a Gerard Water Bottle for your student. Donate $15 and get a free water bottle and a dvd of your child's program. Donate $30 and get two water bottles, two dvd's etc..
These are examples, but the general idea is to ask for donations for PTA, not have a membership drive where we keep very little of the money. Anyone who wants to be a member will be able to. However we will not push for you to collect as many members as in the past.
