In this survey, Taskforce members are asked to respond to questions about percieved strenghts, weaknesses, opportunites and threats to the economy of Horry County. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for us to learn your opinions.

A SWOT analysis is a process by which a community’s competitive advantage is determined. SWOT is an acronym for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. A community’s competitive position is a function of the internal and external factors that make up the SWOT analysis.
By undertaking a SWOT analysis, it is possible to identify and prioritize the critical issues affecting the local economy that need to be addressed in the strategic plan. Undertaking a SWOT analysis provides an understanding of the economic development potential for initiating and selecting certain developments. A SWOT analysis should highlight the drawbacks and weaknesses of the local economy.
