Did you know? New schools in Calgary are opened with a limited selection of supplies and amenities like playgrounds, computers and tablets, books for the library, gym equipment, musical instruments, etc. In order to supply the school with more of these options to enhance learning and the physical well-being of the students, parents are expected to form a Parent's Association to raise money.
A typical playground for the size of the K-4 school being built in Auburn Bay will cost in the area of $250,000 - $400,000. Some grants are available to help, but a large amount of money must be raised and in the bank.
A group of parents has come together to form an initial team that will become the Parent's Association once the school opens, and so far we have raised over $25,000!
The playground is our first priority, and we are now at a funding level where we can begin to make plans with an approved playground contractor and we want to make sure we make the most informed choices we can.
We need your help! We are looking for opinions and ideas from parents and community stakeholders.

| We have held a number of fundraising projects so far - including bottle drives, BBQs, baked good sales through local sponsors, a dinner event, clothing drive, direct sale sponsorship, Go Fund Me campaign, etc. There are more events planned, but more ideas are always welcome. |
