Hayes (2003), said that: "Internal controls should be considered as consequences. For example, an employee forgets to deposit cash in the bank. The consequence of this is that there will be no record of the money being deposited which will show up, due to a control. The control is considered to be a consequence because if it was not in place, the error would remain undiscovered." What is your opinion of this statement?
