On the following pages, you will be presented with reminders of the tasks associated with the deliverables in the project and questions related to your experiences with the tasks. You will also be provided opportunity to share your comments and feedback relevant to your ratings, and any other comments and feedback about your experience as an SME for the project.

You will be presented with an overview of each of the four deliverables, and asked to provide a rating for each of the following:

Understanding - How well were you able to understand the task?

Mental demand - How mentally demanding was the task?

Time demand - How time demanding was the task?

Effort - How much effort was involved in completing the task?

Confidence - How confident were you that you had accomplished what you were asked to do?

You will also be provided an opportunity to provide narrative comments and feedback for each task.

At the end of the survey, you will have an opportunity to provide more general comments and feedback about your experience as an SME in this project.

Deliverable #1 asked you to match the existing course objectives and outcomes. You were provided a list of the existing course learning outcomes and list of the existing course learning objectives arranged by module. The task required you to indicate the learning outcome(s) that is/are the target of the specific learning objective.

Deliverable #2 asked you to indicate the appropriate Bloom’s Taxonomy level for each of the current learning outcomes in the existing course. You were provided a list of the existing learning outcomes paired with what was preliminarily identified as the appropriate Bloom’s Taxonomy level. The task required you to review the pairings, determine if the preliminarily identified level was correct, and edit if necessary to a more appropriate level.

Deliverable #3 asked you to prescribe weights for the ‘relative emphasis’ of each existing learning outcome, and the value of the prescribed weight was to be equal to the relative emphasis given to the learning outcome in the course or subject matter. You were provided with a short how-to-guide (with link to a video guide) and a list of the existing learning outcomes. The task required you to weight each learning outcome using a 2-point unit, which could be decomposed into 1-point partial units.

Deliverable #4 was a two-part deliverable. The aim of Deliverable #4 Part I was to develop ‘alternative syllabus’ learning outcomes that reflect the 'ideal,' according to research in the field of the subject matter and educational best practices. This was intended to be an ‘alternative syllabus’ that includes 'ideal' learning outcomes, and what students should ideally walk away with from the course. You were asked to construct the learning outcomes for an ‘alternative syllabus’ and then prescribe weights for the ‘relative emphasis’ that should be put on teaching to the learning outcome.

The aim of Deliverable #4 Part II was to match the ‘alternative syllabus’ learning outcomes to either the existing learning objectives or newly written objectives. You were provided the list of ‘alternative syllabus’ learning outcomes from Part I, and list of existing learning objectives. You were asked to indicate the learning outcome(s) that would be the target of the specific ‘alternative syllabus’ learning objectives.
