Running tours, or ‘sightrunning’, are a global trend offering runners an opportunity to see a new location and learn something about the history and background of the area - all while running.

Running tours can of course be different distances, different lengths of time, and pass along more or less information.

St. Louis Running Tour is considering different options for future running tours and would love to have your input, whether you’ve participated in a running tour in the past or not.

This survey asks you to pick a most desirable option among several sets of running tour alternatives.  So please click below on “Next” to get started.  This should only take you a couple of minutes.

* One option for a running tour would be to stop at different locations to look at the location and learn a little about the significance of the spot.

Alternatively, the running tour could just run past them with a guide only saying which location it was.

Which would you prefer?

I like the idea of stopping and hearing some information about the location

No stops for talking, just run

* Another option has to do with the amount of historic information you are provided on the running tour.

Which would you prefer?

An historical overview before starting is all I need

I like the idea of learning a lot as we go along on the running tour

* Something else to consider is the length of time it takes to complete the running tour.

Which would you prefer?

I’d make time for up to a 3 hour running tour

1 hour is all I’d carve out of my day for this

* What about group pictures taken during the running tour by the guide at different locations along the route?

Which would you prefer?

If I want pictures, I’ll take pictures

I like the idea of getting pictures of me at a variety of interesting places

There are a lot of ways to organize a running tour and we’d like to learn what combinations might be most appealing to you.

Some of the options of a running tour that might be offered are:
- Length of time
- Amount of historical information provided
- The number of stops along the route
- Group pictures taken by the guide
- Receiving a t-shirt
- Cost

Following are some combinations of running tour options.  Within each of the pairs, which option would you prefer?  In each example assume they cover 3.5 miles, are on Saturday or Sunday morning, and you receive a drink (water/replacement drink).

* Which of these two options would you most prefer?

2 hours; historical overview before starting; 5 stops; group pictures; no shirt included; cost $25

1 hour; historical overview before starting; no stops; no pictures; no shirt included; cost $15

1 hour; historical overview before starting; no stops; no pictures; no shirt; cost $15

3 hours; detailed information about the city before and during the run; many stops; pictures; t-shirt; cost $35

* And of these two options?

1 hour; historical overview before starting; no stops; no pictures; no shirt; cost $15
